Trump Tokens Slide After Democratic Sweep as Bitcoin Holds $80,000

Talk of the Town crypto card, 4 Nov 2026, CoinGecko 24h at 23:25 London. TRUMP down 18.7% to $1.28 after the Democratic midterm sweep; WLFI down 5.0% to about $0.0485. Bitcoin $80,046 up 2.9%, Ether $2,415 up 5.6%, BNB $715 up 2.3%. Gainers: FLUID +22.9%, BP +12.4%, RAY +11.3%, KMNO +8.6%.

Tokens tied to President Trump fell hardest in crypto on Wednesday after Democrats swept the US midterms, while bitcoin held above $80,000 and a handful of DeFi and exchange tokens posted double-digit gains.

MoneyTurkey | Talk of the Town | 4 November 2026

Key points

  • Official Trump (TRUMP) fell 18.7% and World Liberty Financial (WLFI) 5.0% over 24 hours, the two biggest Trump-linked tokens on the losers board.
  • Bitcoin rose 2.9% to $80,046 and Ether 5.6% to $2,415, recovering from earlier election-night selling.
  • Kamino (KMNO) gained 8.6% after the lending protocol tied most of its CEO’s token vesting to valuation targets, CryptoSlate reported.

The midterm trade

The clearest political signal on the board came from the Trump family’s crypto ventures. TRUMP, the president’s meme coin, dropped 18.7% to $1.28, and WLFI, the governance token of the Trump-backed World Liberty Financial, slid 5.0% to about $0.0485, according to CoinGecko data at 23:25 London time. Yahoo Finance reported earlier declines of 17% and 7% respectively, and The Guardian said the results had dented Trump’s personal wealth.

A Democratic House and Senate makes it harder for the White House to push crypto-friendly legislation through Congress, a risk Bloomberg flagged as bitcoin slipped earlier in the session. The wider market has since recovered.

Blue chips

Bitcoin was up 2.9% at $80,046, and Ether climbed 5.6% to $2,415.42, back above $2,400. BNB added 2.3% to $715.20 as Binance recovered from the selloff that followed its hack; the exchange said this week it had refilled 98% of the stolen assets. XRP rose 1.7% to $1.30 and Solana 1.2% to $94.68.

Biggest gainers

Fluid, the DeFi lending and trading token, led the top 200 with a 22.9% jump to $2.47. Backpack’s BP rose 12.4% to about $1.00 and Raydium 11.3% to $1.74; no single news catalyst was reported for those moves. Backpack’s token gives no direct allocation to insiders and lets long-term stakers swap tokens for company equity at an IPO, according to the exchange.

Kamino added 8.6% to $0.0364 after it linked most of its CEO’s KMNO vesting to the token’s valuation, though holders have no claim on foundation revenue, CryptoSlate reported. Derive gained 10.2% to $0.3446.
